HOW TO SETUP YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IN MICROSOFT OUTLOOK EXPRESS:

1. Click on the Outlook Express icon usually located to the right of your start menu at the bottom of your screen.  If you do not see the icon on your screen, you will need to do a search for Outlook Express.

2.  At the top of the new screen, you will see a menu entitled "Tools."  Click on the "Tools" menu.

3.  Scroll down, and click on "Accounts."

4.  In the new window at the right, select "Add."

5.  Then select "Mail."

6.  Enter the name you want people to see when they receive email from you.  Then, click "next."

7.  Enter YOUR email address, which was given to you.  MAKE SURE you use all lower case letters.  Then, click "next."

8.  Leave POP3 at the top of the page.

8.  In the incoming mail server AND outgoing mail server boxes, enter:  mail.lightningnet.net

10.  Click Next.

11..  Your ACCOUNT NAME is your email address WITHOUT @lightningnet.net.  YOUR PASSWORD is the password that you chose for yourself when setting up your account.  MAKE SURE that your account name AND password are in LOWER CASE LETTERS.

12. Click Next.

13. Click Finish.

14.  Make sure you have the "Mail" tab selected.

15.  Then, double-click on "mail.lightningnet.net"

16.  At the top, enter a name to remember your email account by such as your first name INSTEAD OF mail.lightningnet.net, which is there by default.  You can enter any name that you want.  The only purpose to change this is because it helps avoid confusion from different email addresses.  For example, this person would change mail.lightningnet.net, which is highlighted in the black box, to something like "John," so he could remember it's his account.

17.  Then click "Apply" and "OK."

18.  Then click "Close."

Congratulations!  You have now set up your email account.  If you have any questions, please email us, or call us at 260-657-5494.
